One to one holistic therapy for mental and physical health.
People commonly come to Yoga Therapy to find relief from chronic pain, recurring injuries, anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions. If you have been through Trauma, please see Trauma Therapy.
Yoga Therapy often helps people sleep better, eat better and feel better. It can be tailored to almost any person with a medical condition whether it is a disease of body or mind.
If you can breathe, you can do yoga.
If you're generally well then a tailored practice can help maintain health, improve vitality and address any minor imbalances before they manifest into illness, lifestyle diseases or age-related disease.
A Yoga Therapy plan may include:

Sessions take place in Pendlebury (M27) and last 1 hour.
What happens in one to one Yoga Therapy sessions?
First session (60 minute health assessment / consultation)
Expect to discuss your health, lifestyle and your goals.
Depending on your discussion, the therapist might assess your:
range of movement
symmetry / muscle balance
strength / flexibility
spine mobility / strength
heart rate variability
Second session (60 minutes)
You will be guided through your personally tailored treatment plan to ensure everything is suitable and clear. This may include recorded material or printed instructions to help you feel confident to carry on with this at home.
Follow-up sessions (60 minutes)
Targeted assessment of relevant areas, treatment, review of progress, programme and health goals.
You are generally recommended to have between 3 and 6 sessions followed by a break while you continue to work on your programme.
For rehabilitation and other forms of recovery (eating disorders, addiction), weekly or fortnightly appointments might be more suitable.
For mental health conditions and trauma recovery, you may choose to have weekly/fortnightly sessions for 10 sessions or more.
